Vic Keasler has a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology & Microbiology from Baylor College of Medicine. He has worked for Nalco Champion in the area of petroleum microbiology for the past 11 years. During that time, Vic and his team have published over 40 papers at conference and in peer reviewed journals focused on microbial detection and control in oilfield systems. In addition, Vic has 15 granted patents for the development of new antimicrobials to reduce the risk of microbiologically influenced corrosion, biotic H2S production, and/or biofouling. Vic currently serves as the Director of RD&E and leads a large team of scientists that provide technical support and innovations in several areas including: oil/water separation, production maximization, flow of heavy oil, enhanced oil recovery, water treatment, and petroleum microbiology.
