Haibin Xu is currently Regional Manager for Shell Research Connect & GameChanger in the US and Canada. In this role, he is the primary relationship holder on behalf of Shell with Universities & National Labs for research collaborations, as well as overseeing Shell GameChanger’s investments into early stage startups, covering USA and Canada. He started his Shell career in exploration and development for 6 years; then became a petrophysics team lead and new ventures team and project manager, followed by a year working on corporate strategy, specifically related to Shell’s global LNG strategy, and Shell China upstream strategy. He is the director and co-founder of the GCxN incubator, a partnership between Shell and DOE’s National Renewable Energy Lab. Haibin serves on the Investor Advisory Board of the National Renewables Energy Lab, as well as on the board of the Technology Collaboration Center. He has also served as an associate editor for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. He has a Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2002.
